We are happy to bring this microlot coffee to you after buying it from the 2010 Auction in Costa Rica. It placed 3rd in the auction after this years Cup of Excellence was canceled.
This coffee comes from a small family farm high on the slops of the Poas volcano. The Hacienda Las Pavas has just 50 hectares (125 acres) of rich volcanic soil that produces a delicious distinct coffee that is characterized by its explosive acidity and its deep, chocolaty aroma.
This high placed lot was selected from the farm of Las Pavas, in the Acosta region of Tarrazu. The coffee is made from pickings of the farm’s Caturra varietal, giving it a lively yet delicate, clean and balanced cup.
